What Happens in HellAs mentioned last time, I was very wiped out after finishing the very long & complex Hammer Falls series BUT I’m finally getting down to What Happens in Hell (Stays in Hell) - if you’ve read The Tree of Life you’ll know what the title refers to and will understand why I’m looking forward to it. It’s currently in very early stages (combo of plotting & writing) but I’m hoping to have it done at some point in the next 2 months! I did hope to have a cover reveal for you by this newsletter (& I do now have a “working” one) but haven’t managed to finalise it - hopefully by the next one! WOLF/ROWAN MOON - Staying Home.The January Moon, also ‘Wolf Moon’ for the howling of hungry winter wolves, ‘Severe Moon’ and ‘Stay Home Moon’(!), falls now. It’s also the Rowan Moon, rowans being sacred to Brighid, the Celtic goddess of hearth & home, celebrated at Imbolc on 1st/2nd Feb. Eat honey cakes & make your resolutions then! Rowan (Celtic Luis, pron. loush) or Mountain Ash is strongly associated with protection from harmful spirits. Norsefolk used branches as rune staves, boughs were hung in stables to guard cattle, people carried sprigs against witchcraft and rowans are still planted in graveyards to ensure the dead move on. In the HBO Teen Wolf series (wolf moon, see 😉), Mountain Ash forms a barrier that cannot be crossed by supernatural creatures. Every rowan berry has a tiny 5-pointed star opposite its stalk. Pentagrams (and red) are both considered protective against magic. |

PARTIES!!!To keep you warm through the (Northern Hemisphere) winter, there are another TWO hot parties lined up 😊- one for Valentine’s Day, the other not till March but definitely worth telling you about! The Valentine’s Day one is lining up to be great fun! Almost 30 authors are signed up at present, with books stuffed full of monsters, demons and more. It’s an all-dayer, drop-in style (not sure what time I’ll do yet, maaaaybe around noon EST/5pm GMT or maybe later…) The second party I’ll say more about next newsletter - for now I’ll just say it’s another #OwnVoices event scheduled for 16th March (will possibly extend to 17th) and it’s looking AMAZING!! The first one is actually my calendar! Which I thought I might share with you as I go along, since the pictures are really quite good and it’s not like I can post them on FB now is it? As you can see, there’s no room to write ANYTHING at all on this calendar, luckily that wasn’t why I got it lol.He also has impressive lats.
