Editing Apace…Still sloggin’ away for The Tree of Life - and onto the third pass of edits. It’s definitely coming together as the tools shift from slashing to chiselling. Not onto the polish yet, but I’m dedicated! I feel like I’ve been almost invisible online because of it, but hope to have more for you soon, including a cover reveal, requests for ARC readers and a few tentative snippets… I’ll keep you posted! Blue Moons & Hazelnuts!Today’s full moon is a blue moon, the second full moon of the month. Many spritual practitioners believe intentions set now will last until the next full moon, so make them good! The August moon (first or second!) was known as the Dispute Moon by the Celts (perhaps because midges are torture at this time of year!) and elsewhere as the Sturgeon Moon, Ligthning Moon and Corn Moon. It’s also the Hazel Moon or Coll, which translates to ‘the life inside you’. Hazel is associated in Celtic lore with sacred pools/wells and the salmon of wisdom (which ate hazelnuts). The Hazel Moon is considered a good month to start anything related to wisdom and knowledge, divination, or anything creative. It’s been called “a good month to get your muse back”. Hazel’s pliability means it’s been used for all sorts over time, from bows to fences and of course dowsing. |

Naked Friends: Alex SilverNaked in this month’s section spotlighting awesomely supportive authors is Alex Silver! Like me, Alex is a trans writer with a love of nerdery (hence his Table Topped series). He grew up in Northern Maine, mostly, and now lives in Canada with his spouse, two kids and a lovebird 🦜*💖 (*not a lovebird, but closer than the duck, chicken or eagle). Alex: Alex writes queer happy ever afters. One of his major motivations both for writing and for including lots of trans characters in his books is, in his words, “to show the happy ever afters I didn't realize were attainable for trans folks like me as a young person, since I never saw that positive rep growing up.” Couldn’t agree more, and I LOVE this about Alex’s books! What’s happening now: Alex is currently working on ‘Shift Work’ book two - Squirrel Trouble - an omegaverse mpreg shifter romance between an owl alpha and a squirrel omega where there's only one bed at a medical conference they're both attending. Squirrel Trouble’s already up for pre-order and comes out on September 20th. Next after that is Dan's Hauntastic Haunts Investigates: Joliet Asylum, Alex’s 4th paranormal trans ghost hunter book. The ‘Hauntastic Haunts’ series follows an established couple who travel the country documenting hauntings for their vlog 🖤 Latest release! Alex recently released Balanced Party, the final book of his ‘Table Topped’ series following the love lives of a group of LGBT pen-and-paper RPG players who work together at a video game studio. Balanced PartyEmil - I’m devastated when growing our family comes with more bumps along the way than expected. Pia and Gregor stick by me through my lowest lows, but infertility has left me struggling with intimacy. I long to reignite our passion. If only I can find the courage to be brave. Balanced Party is an M/M/X nerdy contemporary romance with two trans leads who have different experiences of what that means for them. This is part two of a duology featuring these three characters and it ends with an HEA. The duology can stand alone, but it is also the final installment in the Table Topped series.
