HAPPY APRIL!!Welcome all to the April’s full moon Guid Goss!!Transition Update Now coming up for FIVE months on testosterone and, whilst I’m enjoying what changes there have been, I’m feeling pretty impatient for more 😅 From what I can gather, that’s not uncommon around this time - at the start it’s all excitement & anticipation but, just as puberty’s slow, so’s this! My voice is the biggest change, though it still doesn’t ‘pass’ as male. My thighs, arms, lip-area etc have always been hairless so they’re taking a while - thighs doing the best of those. My hairline’s receding, which will feel better when my face looks more masculine! I get pretty grumpy about the wait. I LONG to be able to show you all my own beard when it finally happens 💖 Amazingly, a health problem I’ve had for the last 12 years (sunlight allergy - I shit you not! It’s called Polymorphic Light Eruptions - my blood cancer causes all sorts of weird little immune things) seems to have GONE! It’s not a total surprise - I researched all my health conditions ahead of starting testosterone, to see if any were likely to be affected, and discovered PLE is strongly testosterone-related, so I was kinda hoping… Anyway, I won’t know for sure for about another month or two but so far it’s looking good (it usually starts Feb/March and runs to about Oct/Nov - if it hasn’t started by June, I thiiink I’ll be home dry…) The other BIG news is I’m now booked in for psych assessment for top surgery referral (trans people have to be psychologically cleared for all their surgeries, regardless of age). That appointment’s in May so I’ll keep you posted, then I should be able to book surgery consultation & hopefully go ahead with that this autumn! 🎉🎉🎉 On to your full moon newsletter!!🔵What to expect in this one:1. As an add-on, it’s always going to be difficult to get this one out there but I hope those of you who try it enjoy Sam’s crazy little adventure! NEXT BOOK WILL BE A STANDALONE! WILLOW MOON/PINK MOON AS NICK DRAKE ONCE SANGThe Willow moon (Celtic Saille/seilleach, “Sahl-yeh”) is associated with water, healing, the moon, grief and flexibility. Willow thrives near water. Its ability to grow from a cutting (you can push one into soil, any way up, and it will grow!) led to it becoming a symbol of immortality, renewal & vitality. Its flexibility has led to its use from shelters, coracles and fence hurdling to baskets, pegs, clogs, rope and even cloth! Its properties for relief of colds, pain & inflammation are well-known. In the early C19th, salicylic acid was isolated from its bark, from which the world’s first synthetic drug acetylasylic acid was developed & marketed as Aspirin. The Greek poet Orpheus carried willow on his own trip to Hell. This is the Willow card from my Mah Jongg Oracle. It symbolises diplomacy, promising current issues are temporary and that now isn’t the time for sudden moves. It promises healing not only of illness, but also the troubled heart :) Coincidentally, I spent a good deal of troubled heart time in my teens listening to Nick Drake’s Pink Moon album 💖 |
